The Super Bowl 50 Host Committee, the National Football League and Verizon are working together with the city of Santa Clara to create a special “Super Bowl” public recycling event to collect and safely recycle all types of electronic waste.
Local residents will be able to discard electronic devices such as computers, televisions, or cell phones during this event on January 20, 2016 – two weeks before Super Bowl 50 comes to Santa Clara. This is a free event!
The E-Waste Recycling Rally takes place at the City of Santa Clara Corporation Yard on 1700 Walsh Avenue in Santa Clara on Wednesday, January 20 from 9AM to 1PM See the list below for the items that will be accepted at this event. There will be giveaways to folks who turn in items to be recycled.

- Desktop computers*
- LCD and CRT monitors
- Televisions
- Computer cables, mice & keyboards
- Gaming consoles
- Telephones and answering machines
- Stereo and audio equipment
- Paper shredders
- Aluminum Cans
- Glass
- Microwave ovens
- Alarm clocks
- Printers
- Cameras
- Conferencing equipment
- Remote controls
- Earphones
- Small electronic appliances **
- Electronic toys (batteries removed)
- Plastics
- Vacuum cleaners
*Hard drives will not be wiped
**Coffee makers, toasters, toaster ovens, can openers, etc.
Items Not Accepted:
- Hazardous waste like batteries, inks/toners, and mercury bulbs. All batteries should be removed prior to turning in any items.
- Units containing fluid (motors, pumps containing fluid)
- Refrigerators or freezers
- Medical waste
- Radioactive material (X-ray equipment)
