San Francisco Restaurant Week (SFRW), presented by the Golden Gate Restaurant Association (GGRA) in partnership with OpenTable, has announced that the charity partner for 2016 will be the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee’s 50 Fund. The 50 Fund will receive $0.25 from every cover sold through OpenTable reservations and $1 from Lyft for each qualified ride taken by new users of the app.

To date, grants made by 50 Fund – the legacy fund of the San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee – have helped close the opportunity gap for 324,503 low-income children, youth, and young adults in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. 100 organizations have received $5,190,000 in total grants.

During SFRW, January 20 – 31, 2016, participating restaurants will be welcoming diners with specially priced lunch and dinner menus created specifically for this 11-day celebration. A two (or more) course lunch menu is priced at $15 or $25 per person and/or a three (or more) course dinner is priced at $40 or $65 per person.

“We are honored to be partnering with the most philanthropic Super Bowl Host Committee ever, to support outstanding local nonprofits making a difference in the lives of so many in the Bay Area,” said Gwyneth Borden, Executive Director, GGRA. “SF Restaurant Week 2016 will provide the perfect opportunity to celebrate those organizations, while visiting the restaurants that make our city so vibrant. And together, we’ll be experiencing the first weekend of Super Bowl City, which is the culmination of SF Restaurant Week.”

“The 50 Fund is thrilled to be partnering with San Francisco Restaurant Week to raise funds, awareness, and visibility for the work being done by our 50 Fund grantees. Restaurants are a defining aspect of what makes the Bay Area so special and are a key part of hospitality for the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee at Super Bowl City and beyond,” said Jason Trimiew, VP, Community Relations, San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee. “The opportunity to join forces with our restaurant industry, which regularly supports our nonprofit community, is a win-win for everyone.”

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors officially declared the last 10 days of January as SF Restaurant Week; with January being California Restaurant Month. Last year’s program drove nearly 20,000 reservations and $900,000 in revenue for San Francisco restaurants during the program period. The list of 2016 participating restaurants is on the SF Restaurant Week website and menus will be available to view there in early January 2016. SFRW 2016 partners include OpenTable (founding partner), Lyft, San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Magazine, SFMTA, SF Travel, and Visit California.
